Jason Sharman, Field Producer - please schedule some time to meet with him after Thanksgiving. Joel, Art, I found this contract field producer in Santa Monica that I'd like you guys to meet, Jason Sharman. I think he could definitely produce professional show segments for us in the future at a reasonable rate. ACTION: Can you please schedule some time to meet with Jason in LA after thanksgiving? I need you to confirm that we may be able to use him to contract/produce show segments for us in 2006. Why do I want you to meet him? Because Jason has been creating motorcycle television segments for over 10 years and he does more than just field produce, he could independantly produce segments for us with little supervision. What makes him a good candidate for TV Moto? Currently he is producing segments for Spike TV's Extreme 4x4: he finds 4x4 events, pitches events to Extreme 4x4, coordinates production at the event, hires crew, gets footage, Directs segment, edits footage, places rough cuts on web for review until Extreme 4x4 ok's a final cut, sends final cut to Extreme 4x4, they put into final show. Can we see some samples of his work? Yes, see http://www.sharman.tv/reel.htm , there is a segment on riding in Baja dunes and another on racing dirt bikes in the snow! He is sending me some recent segments he did for Extreme 4x4. His resume is also on this site, http://www.sharman.tv . What motorcycle shows has he worked on? Top Dead Center on SpikeTV, Dirt Rider Adventures (he knows Ken Faught), and MotoWorld. Over the twelve years, he has produced shows and feature stories for SPIKE TV, ESPN, ESPN 2, OLN Adventure, Outdoor HD and Discovery Science. What does he cost? Jason says his rates depending on location, travel costs, event that he is covering. If he does everything independantly by himself, including editing on Final Cut Pro, then he estimates costs somewhere in the range of $5K to $10K per 5 to 9 minute segment. He has a favorite crew he normally works with, two camera men and himself. Usually this small crew can create the segments needed for shows he has worked on. Will he travel? Yes, Jason has travel all over the planet, both for work and for personal vacation. He has filmed segments in Greece, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, ect. The crew he works with (favorite cameraman, ect) is very experienced in international filming and usually can complete jobs without any problems overseas. Beside all the Pros, are there any Cons in working with Jason? He doesn't actually ride motorcycles himself, he has been creating motorcycles Television segments for years. This isn't a major negative at all.
