Dear Tony,
Your job posting on BAVC.org for the position of Editor experienced
with AVID has caught my interest. I just relocated to San Francisco
from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and would be excited to meet with you
to discuss the position further. I am really enthusiastic about this
opportunity to work for TVMOTO and will work unsparingly to get the
projects done.
Before moving to San Francisco, I produced multimedia projects for the
Allegheny County Bar Association. During my time there, I created
editing sequences on Final Cut Pro and designed and authored DVDs
under tight deadlines for our clients. Most recently, as Associate
Producer, I managed the production and post-production of a historical
documentary of the Allegheny County Bench-Bar Conference, in
collaboration with scriptwriter and veteran producer Michael Bartley
of WQED in Pittsburgh. For this project I edited the entire video
production and designed and authored the DVD within the deadline of
one month.
Just to tell you a little about myself, for the past three years I
have been producing and editing a long-form documentary of a blues
guitarist in Washington, D.C. who struggles with schizophrenia and
homelessness. I am using Final Cut Pro as my editing software. Please
take a look at www.nowdeathfilms.com for a trailer. Before becoming
proficient on Final Cut Pro, I became a skilled editor on AVID Media
composer under the instruction of President Paul Reynolds and Senior
Editor Adem Bush of CF Video in Boston, MA, while attending Boston
College.
I have a passion for editing and all aspects of video production, as
well as an eagerness to work extremely hard on TVMOTO's projects, and
am inspired by the Editor/Assistant Editor position which links these
interests. I would love to meet you in person to discuss the position
further. Please review my attached resume at your convenience (I
included both a PDF and a WORD document), as well as nowdeathfilms.com
for a trailer of my film work. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Justin Wiener
